Born in Chatham, Ontario in 1976, I received my initial training during a four year period where I was a student and later an assistant to renowned violin maker Raymond Schryer. Since 2003 Iíve been working independently, making and repairing instruments, and have furthered my skills by attending various summer workshops. In the summer of 2014 I moved to Kingston, Ontario and have focused my efforts entirely on making concert quality instruments and no longer accept repair work.

My instruments are made solely by myself, without the aid of any automated machinery or prefabricated parts. My style of work would be considered clean, though I'd like to think of my work as being more organic than what is typically seen within the clean style. My violins are based on the golden period work of Stradivari, and I prefer to draw inspiration from these masterpieces rather than copy them precisely.

My focus is on making honest, well crafted instruments with a powerful, responsive and open tone. Playability is paramount and I rely heavily on my wife, who is a professional violinist, for making these adjustments.

I work very hard to make the best instruments I can and I stand behind them. All the instruments I make carry a lifetime warranty that covers against defects in workmanship and materials.

If you are interested, feel free to contact me and I'd be happy to discuss my work in greater detail.
